- Optional polarizing system to fit to optional ring fiber optic unit. For shiny surfaces, polarization is often used in microscopy to enhance imaging of surface features and defects. The best polarizers have two polarized filters in the light path and can be rotated at angles, with 90 degrees often giving optimal results under cross polarized light.
